First things first, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
We'll be going to Charleston SC in June and plan to stay at James Island Co. park. We have not been to this one so any campsite tips and photo's would be appreciated. We have a 34' TT. Thanks!
Happy camping in 2012!

We stayed at the James Island County Park Campground in Charleston, SC, this past April and thought it was very nice. We really enjoyed our visit to Charleston. Have a great trip.

Great place. Was there last April. Most all sites are deep. Some we liked are 17,25,26,27,28,30. Miles of great paved bike paths, dog park. Free admission and parking @ Foley Beach, and Ocean fishing pier. Not a bad restaurant in Charleston.Plenty to see and do.

Agree with all of that. I don't think I saw a "bad" site. I was there in Feb so the nights were a bit chilly. That made it nice that they have propane fill in the park.

Well we found a bad one! I can't remember the number, but it might have been 99 or 100 - anyway it was a double site - common drive and 2 individual sites. We shared with a T.T. - no problem with that except the way the sites were laid out, our sewer hose connection was only 2 ft. from their door. Because of their length, they could not move and neither could we if we wanted to access the hook-ups. I felt bad for them since they were there first but I sure wouldn't like someones sewer hose at my entrance door. We left after 2 days as did they.

I tried to make reservation a year ahead for December of 2010 and was too late. They were full. I got a spot for February 2011. I'd call now.

I just got a reservation for #30 2nd week of June. Not having been there before, 30 was the only one open on these recomendations. Any body have any pictures of this site? I'd love to see them if you do!

JICP is great. The only drawback to it for June is that it will be hot, and there is no free swimming pool. The on site water park gets pricey, but if you enter after 3 it is 1/2 price. You can also buy passes at the cg store at a discounted rate. Lots to do in Charleston. Post more ?'s if you have any.
