I aint shy on a good forum so I am going to jump in with both feet and hope I dont go thru the floor. I just purchased an 11ft Amerigo TC for $50, you can guess it needs work. There is a lot of rot from the ground up as it was sitting on the ground for several years. After 2 hours with a front end loader with forks we got in on a trailer for its trip home. First thing is the foor is not safe and I need to temporarily reinforce the jack points on it to get it off the trailer. Then some how put a ploor in it and start the rebuild. Its gotta be totally gutted and rebuilt on the inside. I know I have my work cut out for me but am looking forward to doing this. I'll start with a few pictures as is right now, and continue to post as things happen.
ANY advice (besides tak it to the dump) lol will be greatly apprciated.

Couple of comments here,

1ST, I'm sure a good lesson will be learned from this. Good or bad, or what the lesson will be at all but I know a lesson will be learned.

Look up Mountainkowboy in the TC Fourm. His thread on a rebuild of an S&S TC will be what you are doing now. Again, take your time, have fun with it and look at his finished product. What you can do yourself with this TC. What a project.

Oh yeah, get a good Diamond Plate connection. You will probably use some. If you follow the S&S Rebuild.

Did you give them $50 or did they give you $50 The latter I hope. Before you get to far into this project. I would try and estimate the total cost to get it into the shape you want. Then double that amount. Then see what you can for that amount. Even though your labor may be free I doubt that you will come out ahead. But if you love a challenge that thing will certainly fill the bill.

A 50 buck TC, nah, I'd never thought it'd need work. You're my kinda guy. You know how to make lemonade out of a lemon. I was showing my one man "Li'l House" to my Nephew today that I built from a stripped cargo trailer. It has every convenience in a 6x12 trailer but it took all Winter to build. Retirement kind of hours. I worked through plan A through plan G before I got it right what I wanted and made it work.
If I may make a few suggestions.. Plan ahead of the part of the project you want to do. Different remedies will come to mind. It may take days. I say this because I welded frames for the micro-wave and decided I didn't need that substantial framework and trashed it... You must have tools, tools, tools, etc. If you are a hammer and screwdriver type of guy, sorry, take it to the dump..Good luck and I personally will be watching for your posts..

It looks in overall decent shape. Is that a fiberglass roof and front? I bought a wrecked TT and am repairing some things myself, it helps if you have some type of mechanical ability or building trade experience. I would start with getting it on a level, secure platform and remove the aluminum siding to see the extent of the wood damage (it may only need screws and caulk). Old Trucker did a total rebuild on an rv, attached is his link. Good luck and I will try to help with sharing my knowledge in the repair. Charles

I cant find the link.
