Hi there we typically park our rig for the winter and spring months, this year we want to try something new and travel from San Diego thru Texas, New Mexico, LA MS and on to Florida. Can any of you give advice on this Interstate 10 Eastbound way? and weather issues we may hit along the way? We would of course want to avoid any elevations or snow and any other problems, ie. wind etc that may be an issue this time of year. (maybe that is not possible tho?)I am assuming we would not have to worry about Hurricanes for our stay in Florida until around June? Also any neat sites or RV parks you like would be helpful in any of the above States.. Thanks for any tips!

For many many years, we ran from Diego to Daytona four times a year.

I-8 to I-10 then I-10 to I-20 split in WTx, I-20 to Shvpt then I-49 down to I-10 to I-12 to I-10 and then to I-95 south.

There aint no mountains, no snow, no traffic, hammer down, plenty of places to dry dock for the night and darned good roads.

We have traveled that route in Jan and April. Weather in Jan , just have to try to look ahead a few days. A few days ago they had snow in El Paso, not the norm.
I suggest at Van Horn, Tx take hiway 90, it's a nice two lane hyway, takes you right on to San Antonio, you'll go thru Langtry,TX where Judge Roy Bean held court.
Plan on a stop in San Antonio, visit Alamo & River Walk.St martinsville in La, near Lafeyette,LA, An RV park called Catfish Heaven.
We always try to make a stop in N.O. If not take I-12 around N.O.
Last year we went to Jacksonville ,then south to Port St Lucie.
Have a good trip.
