A dumb story line from someone whose only experience with an RV might have been getting POed because one was moving too slowly for her tastes. This could have been a much better story and more properly researched by looking at a Woodall's, Good Sam or RV ParkReviews.com list.

With just a brief visit, I couldn't find anything besides RV parks listed. Not a single one of the wonderful state park CG's along the Oregon Coast could be found, nor any of the great NFS CG's right here in CO or the NPS CG's in the Utah parks. So to make the comment that Wi-Fi is important to campers, one can only argue that it's important to campers who stay at RV parks. There are thousands of Federal and state campgrounds that don't have Wi-Fi and many are booked solid all summer with people who do indeed want to get away. Our favorite CG's are mostly in national parks and our favorite camping spots aren't even in campgrounds!

I find it odd that Ocean Lakes is in the top when people are on here all the time complaining about the drunks& golf carts

There's not 1 park on the list that we would stay at. Way to pricey for us.

I was amused when I read that article and I saw Mill Creek Ranch in Texas. We stayed there last Sept mainly because the location worked for our route. After reading all the hype on their web site, I thought it wouldbe fun to stay in a 10-10-10 rated park.
Underwhelming experience. Nice reception building, nothing terrible, but overall, in the lower 25 per cent of our favorites for a 7 week trip. But the cost was in the top 25 per cent. I recall wondering why there was no paved path to the restroom as I walked through wet grass, and thought the shower setup was poor.
Had far better experience shortly after in a Florida state park for much less money. So there you have it.
I don't pay any attention to giant directory ratings any more.

I'm thinking the criteria for "best" is different for every single RV'er. Then to have some clown who knows so little about the game make up the list is absurd. I look in "rvparksreview" and I think it's hilarious how some people rate a campground at a "10" and the next guy hates the place and rates it a "4".
Everybody has their own ideas of what they need/want/like.

I can't understand why some folks have to place themselves as the final authority on ANY subject. What pleases me might not be liked by anyone else in the world. We've found some top - notch campgrounds in some unexpected places, and some really bad highly recommended ones. One thing I've noticed, if anyplace is real good, OR real bad, you'll read about it right here.

Has anyone even heard of "GuestRated.com... a sort of TripAdvisor for the outdoors set"??? I for one have not. Funny, as a RVer for a number of years I always thought RVParkReviews.com filled that need quite nicely.
So I decided to see what I have been missing. Not much as it turns out. I just did a random check of some campgrounds, several that I really like, and one or two that I consider popular. Very few actually have any reviews at all, but a few have many many reviews. Example.. Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach has over 300 reviews, while PirateLand next door only has 3.

I'm also a solid believer in RVParkReviews.com; that's my #1 go to place. My guess with this newer site is that some CGs are pushing their clients to write reviews (or perhaps writing their own reviews under various aliases) while others do not. Like Trip Advisor, you have to be careful with posters who only have a review or two online. A friend recently opened a restaurant and encouraged all his friends to write reviews; a less sophisticated reader might think his place is the best place in town but they'd be wrong.
