For those who who are on the road heading west, hoping to make it to warm/dry Arizona, you are going to be tested to see just how bad you want to get here....

Make a note to travel earlier next year.

As of 915 am... New Mexico D.O.T. Reports I-10 is closed from Lordsburg to the Texas state line at Anthony. I-25 is closed from Las Cruces...through T or c and all the way to Bernardo.
Winter Storm Warning in effect until midnight tonight...

Snow will continue today across central and western New Mexico generally along the Interstate 40 corridor and south. East slopes of the higher terrain will be favored locations for significant additional accumulations...however...lower elevations will see steady but lighter accumulations. Through noon...the area from Belen to Bernardo and west through Alamo and Acoma Pueblo will be most likely to see heavy snow. Snow and or fog will reduce visibilities at times. Road conditions will remain poor...with snowpacked and icy surfaces and areas of sudden reductions in visibility. Travel will be difficult to impossible at times. For the latest New Mexico Road conditions call 1.800.432.4268.
Winter Storm Warning in effect until 3 PM MST this afternoon...

For those of you who think Arizona is warm and dry, try rain last night and 43 degrees this morning in Mesa. Southern California is going to be 75 degrees under sunny skies for Christmas day..my kids rubbed it in......Dennis

Dennis and Debi - It was VERY cold this morning in the San Diego area. It is slowly warming up due to brilliant sun though. I about froze when I went out this morning in my Patagonia thermal undershirt and sweat shirt to get the paper. So don't let you kids razzz you too much.

It does look like the weather Gods have smiled on us for the next few days in San Diego. But so far this month near every day has been below normal.

I guess so far I'm happy we decided on Florida this year. We've been in Central Fl for three weeks now and the temps have averaged between 75 and the low 80's. Only had a couple of cold mornings (low 40's) so far. I'm sure things can change though. Hope everyone get's the weather they wanted for the areas they're in and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Looks like if you hole up for a couple of days it'll be smooth sailing. Or RV-ing.

We always thought is was kind of exhilarating to get a snowstorm as long as we could wait it out somewhere and IF we knew it would pass over fairly quickly.

Thanks for the update. We will be in Deming Monday afternoon. Delayed our departure from Northern CO until Sunday because of a storm that came through here. Looks like it was a good decision.

New Mexico always gives us problems in March when we're comming back. Heavy winds pushing high rigs off the road.

its cold here in Quartzsite too! Yesterday morning at 10am it was 48f. Warmed up to 52f. and very windy. Today is better, still a bit breezy and probably about 55f, they say a high of 61f today, I doubt it.

Merry Christmas to everyone, and those traveling, please do it safely!
