One thing to help would be freezing a few gallon jugs of water and then putting them in the fridge. It should cool down the inside of the fridge quite a bit and aid in the final cool down when plugged in at camp.

Make sure you bungie them into the racks so they don't roll around though.

I try to plan ahead, so I always have my freezer full the day before leaving with my MH. I start the refrigerator well in advance to make sure that it is cooling properly. It is a bummer to start the refrigerator the day before to find out on the day that you are leaving that it isn't cooling right.
