This is indeed a funny story.

For those of you who are inspired to get a similar device, I recommend you think about it first. The described Tazer will only work when the user is within inches of the target. I don't know about anyone else but I would never arm my DW with something that required her to be that close to someone she was trying to protect herself from.

that's why many models now shoot darts that are wired to the Tazer
and are shaped like pistols to make it easier to point them and use them

but the story is funny

civilian tasers are a one-shot deal. They are made to shoot and drop, then get away. But they do give a 30 sec. ride for your attacker. but you leave it at the scene.

Too bad he had to clean it up for this forum. The version I read on the internet a year or so ago was even funnier.

True story and am sorry if I'm hijacking this thread. Nearly 40 years ago I was aorking for the power company. We all carried mace to use against bad dogs. At this time I had hepititus lost about 45 pounds and could only stand a few minutes I was so week. My dog was in heat and a black lab was working at getting to her. I was home alone and say the lab's tail go by the window. I got my mace and hobbled to the back door, proped it open and braced myself against the door jam. As soon as I saw the dogs nose come around the corner of the house I cut loose on him with the mace. I hadn't figured on the wind. It blew the mace right back in my face. I fell through the door, off the back porch into the yard and was doing the dying fish flop in my boxers. The lady who lived next door knew I was very sick and came to my rescue but I was to week to get back into the house. She spoke very little English but managed to call the fire dept. They thought I had had a heart attack. Two ambulances and a fire truck showed up. They were so busy working on me it took about 5 minutes to convince them what the problem really was. They put me on a streacher and got me back in the house and in bed, called my doctor to confirm what I told them. I could hear them and the doctor laughing their A$$es off as the story was repeated, I suspect the black lab was doing so also. Well the lab never got to my dog and I truely loved that neighbor for her concern.

THAT is the funniest Reader's Digest "Believe It Or Not" story (true or not) I have read in a long, long time. Just goes to show.. IF it is true.. that I am NOT the stupidest person on the face of the earth. Sorry, meant no disrespect.
