Is anyone flat towing a Yaris. I just bought a 2012 with automatic transmission. Can it be flat towed? I am a newbie so I apologize if this question has already been addressed.

You should have bought the Standard Transmission Version. Unfortunately the automatic is Not towable 4 down!

I believe the automatic is not towable. At least that is the case according to the FMCA.

Here is link to the FMCA (Family Motorcoach Assoc.) 'Towables' PDF document.

Do a word search for "Yaris" within that document to view information on that model. I don't see a 2012 listing in FMCA at this time but I am pretty sure it's the same.

I have a 2007 Yaris with the stick shift so it is a simple hook up and tow. But, I happen to like to drive a stick shift. Some people do not.

I think your only option is to look into a dolly set up as an earlier poster has stated or trade for another car that can be towable on all 4 wheels.

I don't think toyota makes an automatic trans that is 4-down towable. Last year when we were looking for a new toad, I was highly disappointed that the RAV4 was not..then looked at the Venza and it too was not towable. We did pull our Tundra one summer but had to disconnect the driveshaft each time....PITA, big time.

Anyway, did you take the time to look in your owner's manual for this info? The info is in there, just gotta look.
