Do the pull pins on the landing gear legs have to be replaced?
They support alot of weight over time and I was wondering do they become weak or break? Never seen it happen but was just wondering.

No need to replace them. If you notice bending or deformation yeah, replace.

One of ours broke. The pin part broke off. We are now using a bolt and nut on that leg. Will eventually put new pin in but this is a good substitute.

Breakage is rare, but does happen.Put a bolt/nut that fits in the hole in your must haves tool box.Even if you never use it,it's worth a beer, coffee, soda ect to someone that needs one.

One of mine broke. Cost $175 to have a tow truck lift the 5er up and used a bolt to secure the leg in place. Replaced both sides and kept the one good pin in case another one fails. Hopefully that won't happen.

Here's another answer: The earlier Quickie pulls provided on many trailers are a short pull type that only have the short pin engaging the row of holes in the inner leg on ONE side only! Ergo; your whole trailer's pin weight is being supported by two short little pins.

If thinking of replacing; buy the add-on's that have the longer pins that transect the entire width of the inner tube of the leg and engage both sides of that tube.

My 5er came with the type that has plastic collars around the leg (pin is steel). Replaced them with steel bolt on type. I notice Camping World only has plastic type now. Don't buy them....they are junk.....they open unexpectantly and can fall off when traveling.

I had the pin that holds the foot pad on, bend enough that I had to hacksaw it in order to remove it to replace the foot pad.

Maybe you installed them incorrectly. Mine are installed so the pull pin is on the outside and the pin goes through both the inner and outter holes. Sometimes they need a little tap to get them all the way in but they're great. One of the first things I added to our rig.

I had one break in the middle of nowhere, Idaho, (Lammi Pass) when I went to put the lower leg UP after hitching up. I had to use coat-hanger wire to keep the lower leg up off of the gravel roads until we found a town with a hardware store.

I now carry a couple of spare bolts.
