Just installed a new thermistor AND a power board. It stays about 32° or slightly below, so today the eggs and the cottage cheese were frozen! We'll be out here on the highway for another 2 months. I have an appointment with Metro RV in Burbank, CA Thursday. Any ideas of what the problem is? Thanks.

Hopefully the 'new' thermistor is functioning.....bad thermistor causes refrigerator to go into constant cooling mode. You can test resistance....
Norcold Thermistor On Norcold models up to, but not including the 900 series model, the thermistor should have a reading of around 40,000 ohms between the terminals of the connector when the sensor end is place into a glass of ice water.
What is location of new thermistor?
Far right fin close to top......lower it down to bottom of fin
Or move it in another fin.
Hey...at least it's cold

Why did you install a new Power board and a Thermister?? Is it a Norcold Power Board or a Dinosaur Power Board? What Model do you have? Doug

It looks to me as if the thermistor is on the 5th fin from the right and about 1/3 of the way down it. My wife defrosted the fins with the hair dryer. I then tried and failed to move the clamp/thermistor into another position on that fin.

Sounds like the 'new' thermistor is bad.
Hopefully Metro Rv can find problem and fix quickly.

I keep mine on 3rd fin and 1/3 down. The fins should go through their own defrost cycle? They should never be froze bad enough to have to use hair dryer?Maybe your new sensor is defective??are both doors sealing 100%??

The position on the Thermister will not really affect your problem. The fins are expected to ice up. The fins will be 10 degrees colder than the refer temp----25 degree fin temp= 35 degree refer temp. ----Model of refer and WHY you replaced the board and Thermister and if it is a Norcold or Dinosaur board. I
thermistor goes 3,4,5 fin appx. centered , if freezing anyway refer should show a code ? owners manual with give you access procedure. may be running in override mode ? if so would indicate power board not comunicating with thermistor or not properly interpreting the thermistor signal.
you mentioned that you had ice on fins ? if so either our new thermistor is no good or board isn't acting on it.
the outside possibillity is the thermistor harness is damaged.
possition of thermistor on fins is not as critical as norcold would have you think do not know the make of the thermistor that my local tech installed before we left. Norcold model 1210 IM. This is what my tech said:
(Sorry--I 'pasted' in his reply--and it came out all messed up!)

I just replaced my thermistor for the same reason...everything freezing even with the fridge set on 1. If the thermistor was not communicating with the control board the cool setting number would blink constantly. However it still could be bad. The directions for my new one said to clip it to the second from the right fin.
