Well we are in Myrtle Beach and I had a check engine light come on while on the way down here. I had oreillys scan it and came back with a bad egr valve. My question is can I make it back home or do I need to fix this while im here?

Fix it! Geeze EGR valves are cheap and easy to install yourself.

Not sure how a PSD egr is controlled.
It could have a bad electrical connector or solenoid which operates the EGR.
What was the code that the computer kicked out?

Sadly it's common for diesel EGR valves to get sticky. Sometimes they can simply be cleaned.
