Hi,

Just make sure you go positive to positive and negative to negative.

I use my old deep cycle batterys in my classic car after they're too weak to serve my TT anymore. I've never had a problem.

It might be best just to switch the two batteries if they about the same size.

Well you just want to get the truk started once then switch em back hopefully yur truck will stay runnin but I dont keep up with modern stuff you may need to leave it and use the jumpers to charge the truck battery for awhile at least Ive got lucky once in your situation. Jumper cabled battery didnt give it enough juice but when I swtiched em it started the truck.

No different from using another vehicle battery, cept it may not have enough power to start.

I wouldn't do the 'switch em' thing. A lot of vehicles will not run without a battery installed. Use a set of jumper cables and call it done.
