Just did the mod where I put a zerk fitting in each of the holding tank dump valves.....took about 10 mins for each one and cost about $3.00......
The valves were getting hard to open and I was afraid I would bend/break the handle or valve......
Now I just look at the valves and they pop right open....Amazing the difference...A good 20 mins of work, potential problem solved......Well worth it.....

Great idea. Just do not look at them when they are full.
We store with our valves open and spray the rods and up inside around the gates at the start of each season. I know your feeling about breaking them off.
Do you have photos and or a write up on where and how you did the zerk job? Sounds simple if it only took 20 minutes.

I keep a little can of Nev-r-seez in the box I store my fittings in, and put a dab on the valve stem each time I open the valve....seems to help. The grease fittings should do the same thing, but internally!
Photos of the job would really be a plus

Great idea!
Unfortunately my valves etc. are hidden inside enclosed underbelly.....only thing I can do is spray rod when valve is open but that doesn't do anything for cable and/or valve rod...........errrrgggggg

Thanks for the photo link. That is a simple job for sure.
I like the thought of starting to add grease when the valve is fully open and stopping when the grease starts to close the gate. That way you would have max grease and max opening of the gate potential.

well, as usual, a day late and a dollar short! I just broke the plastic "handle" on my grey dump valve. Are these things just threaded on? I'd rather just make a new handle than replace the valve. the grease job would probably have prevented this question.
