My charger went out this week and I was thinking about replacing it with a pd-4655 converter charger. Any problem with this unit? We usually run our generator 3 hours a day to charge the boat so it seems this might be a good choice.
Thanks phaz

What make & Model converter do you currently have ?
The PD4655 is designed to replace just the lower part of many popular converters.
How many batteries do you have and size/capacity ?
There are many debates what is the best converter and there are just as many answers. The PD4655 (and other series of the Progressive Dynamics with the charge wizard) is a excellent unit, and seems to be the most forgiving for slight wiring shortcomings.
I purchased a PD4655 a few weeks ago and so far the performance is a improvement over my factory Parallax 7345 unit even with the current wiring mismatch.
I purchased from Amazon.com they had the best price with free shipping and I used my Amazon reward points to purchase it. Bestconverter.com gets high consideration and thats where I would have purchased if not for the use of reward points and free shipping. I received my PD4655 2 days after ordering.

the pd 4655 converter replaced the OEM WFCO converter that would NEVER,NEVER go into boost mode under ANY conditions, including a fully discharged set of trojan 6V batteries in my trailer. The 4655 goes into boost mode easily and can be force into boost mode easily. for booddockers it is a HUGE improvement over the WFCO. Iota also makes great converters, but IMHO you can't go wrong wwith the PD units. I have a second PD 65A unit mounted in the pass through when boondocking I can turn both on and get close to 90A initial charge in boost mode and quickly bring the battery bank to full charge.

Kevin is testing his new unit again right now. It appears that a cable upgrade could be making a big difference. A bit early to tell, though. I'm curious to see if his input AC has bumped up at all.
Kevin's 4655
I would consider the 9200 series still.
Also, if you go the 4600 route, bear in mind that there is now a factory "hack" to add a pendant for the Wizard. It will save you from changing out the fuse board.
Cheers,
