I am wondering if they still have lanes closed on the Cincinnati to Coventington Ky bridge? I remember about a month ago, I read it was pretty conjested (more than usual)in that area.

KY DOT site says the same thing it did last month. Expect delays in both directions through Dec. 1, 2011.

There was an earler comment that some or all of the bridge work is done on the weekend only, and so weekdays are actually beter. You will need someone with recent experience to clarify whether that is true or not.

We went through that area last Monday and Tuesday(one day south, the next day north) with no problem whatsoever. Looks like either the construction is finished, or as surmised, it was only being done on weekends and at night. During the weekday it was full speed ahead.

I live in the area, and yes, construction continues at night from 10PM to 5AM and on weekends. In addition, emergency repairs happen when they happen. As soon as they finish the scheduled repairs, they're going to replace it. And don't think you can fool 'em by going around on I-275. They have that torn up too on the Ky. side.

Here's a Link.

Its not entirely their fault. I71, I74 and I75 all meet in Cincinnati/Northern Ky.

We went from northern Michigan to central Florida two weeks ago via I-75. The only place we experienced any construction was just south of Atlanta at Forsythe. A bridge repair closed two lanes................Other than that it was smooth sailing.

We just came through there yesterday (Mon, 11/21) around noon. No tie-ups and no construction. Traffic was heavy as usual but no slow downs.
The "speed limit 55, your speed XX" signs were showing mostly mid-60s.
