How is dielectric grease applied? To the prongs of power cord? Inside the female pig tail?

I just put it on the prongs the first couple times I plugged into the surge guard, it seems to last a while.

Thanks to all of you for info on this problem. I've bought Dielectric grease and will follow your suggestions on how to use. Have a great Thanksgiving!

I fullu understand the problem. I have used a screwdriver to help pry apart the connectors when I have had to use the 50-30 adapter. I am going to get some of the lube to help. Screwdrivers work OK as long as the power is not plugged in.

Just a thought but rather than dielectric grease why not use conductive grease on the prongs? With dielectric you are working at cross purposes on an electrical connection.

I would use the grease/paste that is used on aluminum wire at terminations/joints. It's made to prevent oxidation.

A conductive grease may very well short the whole thing out. It is way to easy for it to end up on the plug casing, shorting out the prongs.
