The last post of WTTCS. Ill ask for a name change.
Never ever thought I would post this, but since my wifes passing 2 years ago, I no longer have the need nor the desire to travel the back roads of this great country.
For years, I have owned my own home base and lived in my fiver. It has been stationary for the past 3 years, although I own another small fiver that I travel the 5-7 state area in.
Today I closed on the sale of all my land and my fiver. I purchased a small 1500 sq ft home on 7 1/2 acres not far from my old home base.
Soo......Ill join Willie and Dasu being sunshine chasing and fishing.
Things change I guess.

Wishing you well in everything you do. I know EXACTLY what you mean about trying to continue RVing when the ultimate tragedy occurs. When I lost Charlotte a year and a half ago my zest for MANY of the things we loved together has diminished greatly also. I'm not ready to pack it in quite yet but have nowhere NEAR the drive for the open road I once had. Sometimes one realizes that your loved one was MUCH of the reason you loved those things.
Again, good luck to you / Skip

That's a shame, you made me laugh more often then not.
I'm so surprised that you're giving up the fellowship of your park. Seemed to me that you enjoyed that a lot.
Best of luck.

Reading your post caused me to reflect on my own situation. I lost my DW of 31 years over 3 years ago. Our future plans included full-timing for a spell and then spending 6-7 months a year on the road until we had visited every place we dreamed of seeing. We had purchased our "perfect" RV, a 2008 Pace Arrow 36D and were dreaming the dream. That dream died 8/21/08. This past May, I attempted one last effort to keep the dream alive. I left NY for the once-in-a-lifetime trip to Alaska. 15 days later, sitting in a truckstop in Edmonton, I turned back towards NY. At the time I knew it was a big moment in my life, I just didnt know how big. Since returning to NY, I have sold my 2010 Navion (I had traded the Pace Arrow for the smaller rig specifically to continue to travel as a single), purchased a nice used Coachman and spent just 5 nights out in 2011 after the aborted Alaska trip. My desire, much like what you appear to be having, has waned and maybe even died. I promised myself, and my dear late wife, that I would not dispose of the current RV until I at least took the winter to decide once and for all if I am still interested in the RV life. In summary, I can see where you are coming from, having traveled a similar path. I wish you well in your new situation and may you find happiness in what ever you chose to pursue. I look forward to making my decision, and moving on. With a heavy heart, but knowing my life, even without her, goes on. God bless all of you as the holiday season approaches. Show those you love just how much they mean to you. And wish those that have had their dreams, their lives turned upside down godspeed to finding some measure of peace.
