My wife and I recently purchased a new Roadtrek 190 Popular and now are interested in some rallys and perhaps going on a caravan. Are any of you fellow owners members of the club and have you participated in any of these activities? Appreciate any feedback on experiences.

You might start by joining the Roadtrek Yahoo group. Just google 'Yahoo Groups' and enter 'Roadtrek'. It's free.

Hi Larry and Barbara,

Congratulations on your RT.

Many here at this site are members of RT International and they have a lot of rallies all around the country. RT International has been especially a good thing for people like Pat and I who the RT was our first RV.

The wealth of knowledge both here and at the RT International are really helpful. The RT rally people really love the RT and are wonderfully helpful as well as those at this site.

My first RT rally when we arrived we found 180 RT and a wonderful group of people. Recently we have spent more time with RV Net rallies and that is especially nice seeing so many other types of B's and another group of people.

So yes join up and plan to attend a rally soon.

RV Net forum has a great rally being planned in May of next year. We go when we can but we maybe traveling out west next year in May.

Best regards,

Ron and Pat

larnbarb,

Ditto on what ronsminis posted.

I sent you a PM with specifics on how to join Roadtrek International.

What about a club if you own a B, but not a roadtrek?

If you are planning on attending rallies then Roadtrek International is the club to join. Joining requires joining FMCA (Family Motor Coach Association). Other than the rallies benefits can be duplicated by various Roadtrek forums and related sites. BUT if you want to get together face to face with other Roadtrek owners, join Roadtrek International. You can check on their website for your local chapter and the activities they have done and are planning.

When we owned a RoadTrek, we considered that group. Now we have a Winnebago product, they solicited our membership, but no. Bottom line for me is that if I join, what do I have in common with these people? The brand of motorhome I own? I meet all sorts of people at our destinations where we talk about everything in life but our RVs. Wouldn't you rather hear stories about somone's kids or grand-kids or their dogs? A fireside chat about tires and miles-per-gallon makes for a great camping experience. I would steer away from a brand specific club, that is unless you ride a Harley Davidson. How many people have a RoadTrek tattoo? Just saying...

Here is an interesting discussion of one of the aspects of Roadtrek International here on rv.net.
