That is not funny, it is very true. I took one GD camping back a while ago and she took a friend. We were all setting out side near the fire and I noticed they were texting not talking to each other. I asked why they were not talking and they said....we are, I just sent her a text.

How about us? We're sitting around a virtual campfire, texting/talking. That's the reason I watch Boardwalk Empire, to see how it was done back when.....

That's why I have a cell phone that sends and receives PHONE calls ONLY!
No texting. Never have had, never will have.
If you want to get a message to me, other than email or forum, you must talk to me!
My phone does have a camera, though.
I very rarely use it.

That's nothing. Once, my wife & I had a conversation on a message board (similar to, but not this one) while we were sitting next to each other. It was funny.

As for why text to someone sitting next to you, it might be due to the topic of the text. Maybe something they don't want discussed in the open.

My ex Wife used to do the same Thing. She would get on Yahoo Messenger and send me Instant Messages as to why she was upset with me. I told her it made no Sense to do that when we are right here and can talk to each other. That is one of the Reasons, she is my Ex.
