Hydraulic or motor driven? All slide outs are adjusted at the factory, so unless you know how these stops should work, this job really requires professional help and guidance.

Our bedroom slide in a 2001 Tradewinds goes half way out, squeeks, stops and needs to be pushed on the top for the rest of the way. A two person job. Coming in the same thing happens and need a push on the bottom from the outside. I to would like to know how to adjust it.

The bed slide on my National was also operating slowly and squeaking. Mine slides on two or three small nylon or plastic glides. The shop wanted $2200 to remove the slide and replace the parts...I spoke with a guy on one of the forums who jacked up the slide and replaced them himself.. I am not ready to do that yet.I sprayed silicone/Teflon on the glides, used Carnuba on the box so it would slide past the seals easier, then added a wheel under the bed. I am not sure the wheel helped but it did not hurt anything. I was tiring to take some weight off the glides. The wheel is from a farm/ hardware supply store, used for sliding barn doors. I would post a picture of the wheel but I do not see how to ad the picture???

what slide do you have. tiffin used both hwh hydraulic and some other brand of electric slides.
if it electric, it is probably a weak motor or relay. the slide quits when it reaches a predetermined amount of resistance. this can be caused by a slide that has not been lubricated also. i am assuming that has already been done. try going directly to the motor with leads from a fresh battery. thats how i generally help retract a room. if that works, find the relay and test it with the leads, once after the relay connection and then before the relay connection.
the hwh slide can get out of sync. but that would normally cause one side to extend further than the other. look to see ifthere is something that is keeping it from fully extending. i have found things under the bed that block the bedframe, or a bolt thathas worked down far enough to stop the mechanism from fully extending.
if after this, you havent found the problem, then take it to a repair center. if it is hwh, look on the hwh website, and find one listed there. they normally have taken the hwh service classes, and should be familiar with our system. ask first. if they havent worked on hwh rooms before,
its not fun to be the first. sometimes second or third is better.

My slides are operated off of my house batteries. When I had one of my four house batteries develop a cell short, it lowered the load capacity of the batteries enough that it affected the way my slide motor operated. The slide was very sluggish and would stop from time to time.
Once I installed new batteries, that problem went away. This is just a thought and may or may not be of any use. My slide was operated mechanically and not hydraulically.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for all the suggestions. It is a motor driven slide out and I will try and spray Protectall slide out spray that has been recommended. Also the batteries could be an issue as well. Thanks again I will continue to trouble shoot and fill you in on what I find.

It was my understanding the slides work off the chassis batteries, and it helps to start the engine before activating the slides, either in or out. Just what I've read.
