We'll be AZ bound around Nov 15th and would like to avoid the colder overnite temperatures at Wells, NV. Has anyone overnited at Hiko or know if if there is a suitable spot to park for the nite. Thanks.

We make sure to get past Ely nv. We stay at Ash springs, I think? If not there its Crystal springs. It is only 11 miles to Crystal springs, & Ash springs is in the middle. You will come to Ash springs 1st, one of the places has little convience store, & rv park, or if not you can park right out front free. We paid like 15 or 20 for power & water hookups. Nice safe place,
Hope you have nice safe trip. We are leaving for az in about 10 days..

Either make a reservation or plan to arrive early. It's not very big but a welcome overnight spot before Vegas. Plan early or you could be SOL.

Right across the road at Ash Springs is a nice hot spring for a soak and you can cross the cattle guard adjacent to the parking area for the spring and boondock on BLM lands.

Spots I have stopped at...
1...just after getting on the 318 (approx 6 miles) from the 6 out of Ely, their is a motel and spots to either dry camp or hookups
2..Hiko...but miners also use the parking area there.
3..Ash Springs
4...Alamo RV
It all depends on the weather and time after I leave Ely..all are fine for over-nite..#4 is quietest
good luck
