We have been trying to sell our DP and have it advertised on a couple of websites. Recently I got an email from 'ranchhand1' basically directing me to a site called 'motorhomesforsalebyowners'. Initially I thought this was another one of those $300-$400 sites that promise you the moon but all they deliver is green cheese. I went to the site which I have never heard of before, and looked at the advertising rates and they actually were extremely reasonable($45 for up to 12 photos until it is sold). That got my attention. One of their major claims is that they filter out all spam(which I seem to be getting a lot of from my current ads)on forwarded inquiries.
My question is, has anyone had any experience with this site, either positive or negative?

We have had ours on there for several months with no calls. Maybe you'll have better luck.

People looking for a pre-owned motorhome have probably never heard of the site. Most people are familiar with Craigslist which is free and allows photos. Your responses are screened through CL so the responders don't have access to your address, phone number or e-mail address. You don't always get what you pay for.

You probably should stick to advertising on sites that you have actually heard of before. Add me to the list of those who have never heard of that site. Probably a waste of $$$$ if it's vitually unknown........

I would stick with known sites. Also how are you presenting your MH on those sites? The more stagged it is the better, the price will be most important, quality pictures is also important. If your MH is in the upper price range you may have a difficult time selling it due to the lack of loan money for people. Not too many people in the marketplace that can pay cash for high priced toys.

Good Luck

It probably would be wise to open a temporary "junk" e-mail address anytime you are putting one out there for the world to have access to. In fact everybody should have a "junk" e-mail address all the time.

The only "paid" site worth while is "rvtraderonline.com" It's the #1 site across the country...

OH! Well, "SHE" emailed me too - only it was a HE - and the reason was because HE just sold HIS MOTORHOME of the same brand as mine .... blah, blah, blah... then another email offering me help in re-editing my add once I posted on that site.

Obviouly, RANCHHAND1 is a "shill". I checked the site - VERY LITTLE there!

The BEST site I used for responses (ans FREE for 2 weeks - with an additional third free week offered) is RVT.com. I've had more responses from REAL PEOPLE than with the three others I tried. There really is NO REASON to pay any site - there's no site proven to be worth it.

I'm now waiting for MY sale to "go through" the financing phase - and it is to people who saw the RV in my yard. The Internet BS was necesary, but unproductive for me. I cut my price to the lowest in the nation, but it was really the coach that sold itself - not the low price.I've heard from people all over the country - not one actually came to see it. SELLING IS HARD today!

Last year I put my Class C on Craigslist on a Friday and on Saturday the second people to look at it bought it. Just be honest and put up some pics and be reasonable with the price. After I sold the C I then bought my Class A off Craigslist and the advertising is free..............Jim

We sold our 93 Winnebago Adventurer on RvOnline. We paid a little extra and loaded it up with pictures. The price was high at the time and we sold it for a fair although slightly high price. It was the pictures that got the interest and landed the sale to a gentleman from Ontario. We got calls and emails from preachers that wanted us to donate the coach to them for offsite sessiosnn for families in turmoul. We had one person that wanted us to sell it to him on payments. The only person that actually came to see it, bought it. As someone has already suggested, set up an email address on Yahoo or Google and use it only for selling the coach. It will take a while, but if the coach shows well and has a reasonable price, it will sell.

Good Luck
