Does anyone have Medica health insurance with a South Dakota domicile? Has it worked out for you? We are getting close to full timing and we are looking at possible medical insurance.

Thanks!

I'm using an inexpensive Medica Solo policy until I am eligible for Medicare next year. So far I've been very pleased. The policy covers more than I expected it to.

Would you mind talking about how it works when you're traveling? Is there a network to deal with, or is it a high-deductible type plan that covers you in case of a major problem?

We just moved our address to SD (Americas Mailbox) from Florida. Major savings on auto and med insurance. I have medicare Supplemental. In Florida Plan F high deductible - SD Plan F no dedudictable and less per month. DW is not 65. In Florida had Cigna - a good plan but high ded. In SD Golden Rule (United Health) plan is less money, lower ded and more in network docs where we travel than Cigna in Florida. My Medicare supplemental agent is Rene May in Sioux Fall - 605-526-4219. DW Golden Rule is Mike Monson - also in Sioux Falls 605-782-4642. You can call them or another agent and see what is best for you.
