I've noticed that when the converter in my TT is under a very light load, the cooling fan sounds like it is speeding up and slowing down. When the load increases, it runs at a constant speed. It's a WFCO 55A unit. Not sure if the fan is supposed to be variable speed, or maybe the fan is dying?

Could be a bad ground or corroded connections.

Yes it is a variable speed cooling fan. Light load: none to slow fan. Heavier load: faster fan.

Ditto, normal operation for mine from day one. Been talked about here a few times.

Thanks. It's just strange that with a light load it's speeding up and slowing down. I was expecting a slow, but constant speed.

You're right on the threshold of a load controlled cooling fan.
