For sure! And it's the best! You have your own space which isn't big enough to house anyone else and you have excuses to leave the festivities (i.e. oh. I left the windows open and it's raining). Bring the TT, some wine (or whatever else you need to get through the family time) and enjoy!
Oh yeah, you can always say that you heard that the roads were tough and/or tell them that it takes twice as long to drive the TT, so you gotta leave a day early!
Good luck & happy travels!

A few years ago, when we still had our popup, we towed it from CA to Houston for Christmas. We set up in my mom's yard while she hosted my sister's family of 5, plus other assorted guests in a 3br / 2.5 bath house.
My wife griped about towing that PU until the first night when we retreated to our King bed in our quiet trailer, while everyone else was on couches and pallets on the floor. We slept in comfort and in peace and quiet.
We were there for a week and it was a pleasure having our own amenities and a place to retreat. You can only take so much togetherness with family at one time.... My wife didn't offer one complaint about towing the PU the rest of the trip.
On the way back we went to Carlsbad Caverns, Guadelupe NP and Suguaro NP. Great trip! I would do the whole thing over in a second.

Oh, yeah, definitely a way to avoid those family moments.
Dear DIL insisted that we come for son's birthday bash; when we parked the fat ugly beast in the driveway, half hanging out in the street, she was quite happy when we said we needed to hit the road.
And when #2 son needed a place to stay, the fat ugly beast suddenly became "far too small."
Mom's parents took off in an RV to Florida in the '70s and the family didn't even get so much as a postcard for a full year; I'm trying my best to get Mom to follow in their footsteps.

one of my favorite quotes...."Let there be spaces in your togetherness...."
I'm pretty sure it refers to taking the rv to the relative's houses
It works for all kinds of relationships. The full quote is below.
“Let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup. Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts. And stand together, yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.”

My story is slightly different. For reasons I found out later my MIL & FIL begged us to let BIL, DW, and 1 year old DS use our trailer for their visit up from down south. To make a long story short it took us 3 weekends and most nights after work to get the RV back into livable shape. God what a mess.
Didn't dawn on me or the DW why the inlaws wanted them to stay at our place in the RV rather than at their house as DW and BIL were part of 5 kids all that had left home and they had plenty of room.
Come to find out on a previous vist the folks had really messed up the inlaws house and MIL really wanted to see here grandson again but didn't want to handle the mess they left.
And people sometimes wonder why the old tales about hating MIL's get started.

With our family reunion there was the main house, there were all the tents and then there was our 5ver.
We had no people traffic and the best nights sleep
