Anyone know any tips on cleaning grease fingerprints off of day/night shades without damaging them?

We had one replaced and the night shade has grease prints on it.
Not the end of the world, but it bugs me lol.

Thanks for any help.

You can clean the day part of the shade with greased lightning. The night shade is a different story. You must dab those gently and not rub them because they are not made of material that can be doused with water or cleaning solvent. I got small stains off by dabbing them with a damp cloth with a little cleaning solvent. I took my shades down and was able to scrub them with a soft brush and rinsed them with a hose. Just make sure that you keep the night shade part raised up when doing both procedures. It helps to have another person do the rinsing with the hose while you hold up the night shade tight against the top part of the shade. Mine came out like new. Good luck

We had good luck cleaning some stains off ours with a product called Krud Kutter.

Spray on a rag, and dab off. This stuff is strong, so make sure you test it before going in full bore. We got both the day and night part of the shades looking like new doing this.

Agree with box710 and sreeder. Dabbing can clean them. we used a product called Solumel from a company called Mellaluca. We had moth poop on our shades from an influx of moths last spring. It worked fine. Just dab and dab until the grease (or moth poop) comes off. good luck.
