jminyard wrote: I bought one made by VIAIR that is rated at 150 PSI but I have only used it to 80 PSI. It was kind of expensive, about $270. I saw one that came from Harbor Freight that looked just like it with the same specs for about $75. Mine came with two 25' hoses and a nice canvas carrying bag. Good luck!
That's a very good pump. It's the same one PacBrake uses on all its exhaust brakes and will last a very long time.

tvman44 wrote: You need to look at more than the max PSI, the SCFM at upper pressures makes a world of difference. I would not get anything less than 2.5 to 3 SCFM @ 90 PSI. Good point. Most of those 12vdc compressors take forever and a day to air anything up because they usually flow so little air, less than one cu. ft./min, often.

I have the same compressor - Husky, Home Depot and paid $99.00 for it back in April of this year. Has come in real handy twice now.

Craftsman air compressor
Model #921.153101, 3 gallon, 1 Hp,
Cut-in pressure: 95 psi; cut-out pressure: 125 psi, 2.4
SCFM@90 psi, 120 VAC
I purchased this compressor in July for just under $100. I am not a big fan of Craftsman products, but I must admit I am very pleased with this unit. I use it to inflate MH tires up to 90 psi. It can handle the higher pressures due to its high cut-in pressure (95 psi). Hope this helps.

I have a 12 volt Viair 400p that will work in the pressure range of 110 psi. It puts out 2.54 cfm. A good 12 volt air compressor will cost just as much as a 120 volt one. Mine cost me just about $200. I like the smaller size of the Viair and use it both for my RV and to air up my Jeep tires after I have aired down.

And if that's the one I'm thinking of, it's the same as mine.
It uses oil to lube the compressor and shouldn't self destruct as fast as the oil free models.
BTW, it was on sale for around $80 right before black Friday last year. Anyone not in a hurry to buy might save a few bucks by waiting.

I carry one of these as well. Great compressor and not really heavy.
