Thanks for all the replies....I had found some of the LED's on e-bay and while the price was right, I haven't always had the best of luck in buying there. I had priced out the LED's I needed through Command and was quickly over the $300 dollar mark...I need 13, 921 board type (wedge connection) LED's and another for the vent hood and outside light (think its a C922). With the replacement diffusers, duty and shipping I'm quickly looking at closer to $400...
All that being said, the e-bay deals look pretty good and as some posters have already stated, the boards are most likely made in China anyhow...I may try a couple and see...
I'm still looking hard at Solar though....the idea of being able to have my batteries almost continually topped up is very attractive. It seems that three to four hundred dollars would get me going quite well towards a system which I'm sure would meet our needs....
Thanks for the advice....I think I may need to get a meter on my batteries and see exactly what kind of energy consumption we are actually needing...seems wierd to be looking forward to cooler temps so that we can run the furnace!

I replaced 30 G4 halogen bulbs in the ceiling of my MH and that reduced the 34amps to 3.4 amps so you should see aprox a 10/1 decrease in amps. I would search on Ebay for 5050 SMD led in your bulb type. I would only buy warm white which is a temp of 3000+/-. Maybe something like this but I'm afraid they have a color temp of 6000 or bright (blueish) white. You need this many leds/bulb to be bright enough.
*Might try two of these as it says they are "cold white". Not sure what that means but at least it's not "bright white".

I would switch to LEDs - You got to get those power hungary incandescent bulbs out of there. They draw over one amp each bulb so count them up and see how many you are using. I can count an easy 12 of those in use if you turn all of them on.
Changing to LEDs gives you a 80% power savings. I dont know where you are soending that much money either. I probably have around $100 invested in my two trailers. I even have some of those cheap china boards for $5.95 working. Figured if they blew up just buy some more haha... So I got a few spares at that price.
Camping in the woods off the power grid is a big must to get rid of those power hungry incandescent automotive bulbs. They also heat up your plastic fixtures and turn them all brown as well. One post on here complained after he replaced his about being colder inside the trailer...All that power going up in heat...
My next project is to get a couple of solar panels going to help out with re-charging of my batteries during the daytime when I am not allowed to run my generator except during specified hours. I think We guys on the east side have to put with more then the guys on the west side.
My Posts are IMHO based on my experiences - PM/EMAIL me

Your posts say to me, "get going with the solar!" A couple replacement bulbs in high-use lighting should solve that issue, but keeping batteries up during the heating season is gonna' take either solar or a genset...
FWIW: My two 75W Siemans panels have been going strong since '96---pretty much year-round....with a good controller, your batteries will last a whole lot longer, too....sure it's a big investment---but the option is anywhere from $1,000 to $2,000 for a genset---and fooling around with gas.
I'd definitely go solar and upgrade a few lamps w/LED replacement bulbs.

DH and I were talking this exact subject while he was taking his trusty dremel and trimming off the brown spots on the clear lenses of our fixtures. New to this whole idea, but do you have to replace the entire fixture or just the bulbs. I'm not a fan of the "blue" white, but would much prefer the "warm" white. Main reason for changing would be the heat issue. We turn on the light over the table, the one over the kitchen and maybe 1 other and the heat is noticeable + the brown spots. Ideas?
