Has anyone added an additional set of Bal type stab jacks just in front of the axles on a 5th wheel ?
I get a lot of frame flex bounce mid frame on my 35' 5th wheel. The frame flex's and, being mounted on tires and springs, get a lot of movement. I think the flex is to be expected in a frame of that length, wondering if anyone has tried this....

I just used 8K# jack stands that I bought at Walmart. I placed them under the rear of the frame and that took care of the bounce.

I have a set of Bal jacks and I think I will try it next outing. I use Roto Chocks and I still get the bounce, we will see.

Is it a bounce or is the trailer rocking back of forth? I would almost get sick laying in the front bed as the kid and dogs bounced around out back. 32 foot trailer for reference. I installed http://www.steadyfast.com/ and it makes the trailer a night and day difference. I hope I don't come across as a sales pitch but I was really impressed and happy with the purchase. FYI no financial interest ETC.

chevman,
that's what I wanted to hear, your scissor jacks would accomplish the same as my Bal jacks, stop that up and down flex on the springs.
I have the Bal unit now, 2 bolts into the frame on each side, will be just like my rear stab jacks. Gonna work on it today.
imjustdave, I get bounce mostly from the mid frame flex, this hopefully will stop that...I do get some side to side, see it mostly when I'm outside near the hitch and Mom and dog are moving around inside, can see the hitch move side to side some. This setup might help there a little too.
We stay in our 5th wheel about 9 months out of the year so every little thing for creature comfort helps....

I added scissor jacks in front and behind the axles, and have BAL chocks between the tires, it did help alot. also use a tripod and the rear crank downs. Still get a little movment, but when the winds came up durring a storm it was almost rock solid. I don't think you can get rid of all the movement unles you get the tires off the ground.
A note on the scissor jacks, I went to Lipperts store liquidation site and bought all 4 scissor jacks and a crank. I ordered 1 set last year and the 2nd this year (wish I had ordered all 4 last year, $17.50 ea. then) I searched for the best price/with shipping, qand this is where I found them.

We live in our fifth for 6 months and also the reason for adding items that weekend campers really don't need. We also feel rock solid when the winds blow hard at times.
The JT Strong arm stabizilers are the reason for this.

I installed a set of scissor jacks in front of my front tires. Combine this with my Jt Strongarms on my Bighorn 3185 and she is rock solid.
