So we just took delivery of our DP this week. I filled the fresh water tank last night and when I would turn the pump on from either switch, the pump would not shut off until i manual shut it off. Also, when it was running the water would only run out at a trickle. The pump was acting as if it had air in the line or pump. So this AM I go back out to mess with it and it is working fine, great water pressure and shuts off like it should. The coach was not winterized when we picked it up but it had been sitting for several months. I don't know if the fresh tank had been dumped but the gauge read "E".
Do you think I had air in the pump and over night it worked itself out?

I was going to guess the drain on the water line was open. Glad it fixed itself!

sounds like air or a small piece of debris worked its way thru the pump- either way glad its working now.

I'm guessing a little air bind. Not much, but enough so it wouldn't build proper pressure. Sometimes ours will do that if the pump is left on when traveling with not much water in the tank. Normally I just turn the pump off, let it sit for 10-15 seconds, and start it back up and everything is fine. The other thing that may cause it is if there is a little air in the fill line. That needs to work itself out before the pump can work as it should.
There are 24 hours in every day - it all depends on how you choose to use them.

On the fresh water intake/fill valve, where I would hook a hose to fill my tank, there is a lever on the valve. If you move it to one position, you fill the tank. At the other position, you are connected to shore water. If the lever is not moved from the fill position to the other position, the pump will not shut off and build pressure.

Most likely reason is that the hot water tank finished filling.

If a hot water faucet was not opened, as soon as the pump pressurized the air in the hot water tank to 35 or 45 PSI, it would have shut off, whether the tank was full or not.

May have been trying to fill the water heater or in some rigs, the fresh water tank. My water heater will continue to mostly fill even if the faucet is off.
