Hello,
My husband and I are 4-5 years away from full-timing and will want to upgrade to something pricey and very comfy. What convention or show on the West Coast that has the biggest selection of Full-Timing RVs to see and people to talk to for learning and sharing info?
Thanks all, in advance!

I don't know about the one with the most full-timing information, but the biggest show on the west coast is the Pomona CA RV show usually held in October. They have all of the manufacturers represented, guest speakers and a large tent of vendor displays. It's the only show I go to.

From a number of units to see persepctive probably the Pomona show. We went in 2010 (our visit) and it helped to see the build quality of the various rigs.
But there really wasn't any info on full-timing and the accessories building/tent was a bit disappointing.
The other thing to remember is that you have sales people at the show all of whom are promoting their specific products. We did not find any of the information that they provided of much use.
Rather than a show setting for knowledge, I would suggest trying to attend a rally and/or rent an RV and spend some time in RV parks/resorts that match up with your likely life-styles. Talking to the owners' of various rigs will provide you with much better information than any other source.
Also, you didn't state what type(s) of rigs you are looking at; some dealers/brands are very good at providing information whereas others...
Some links that might be helpfull are: our blog, Escapees Forum, iRV2 Forum and our favorite Airstream Forum.

HGTV used to film part of their annual RV 2### shows from southern CA. But since about 2008, they only film at the Hershey Show every September.

Additional suggestions would be the following rallies on the west coast:
-FMCA Western Area Rally, January 2012, Indio, Ca. www.fmca.com
-Good Sam Western Rally, Marcy 2012, Phoenix, AZ
Both I'm sure will have most all the RV manufacturers'.
More importantly are the friendly, knowledgeable and many full time people that also attend these events that I'm sure would be more than willing to share their opinions of RV's.
