We are staying at a private RV park in Florence, Oregon and friends of ours are staying at Thousand Trails down the road. We had our friends check on the proceedure for us to come visit. They were told $5.00 per car and $2.00 per person would be charged when we arrive at TT. What's up with that? I have never been charged to visit anybody in any RV park.
Very unfriendly, if you ask me. This would discourage me from wanting to own a membership at TT, if this is the way my guests would be treated.

We stayed at the TT in Mossyrock, WA. and were confronted with the same thing-Must be a club wide thing.
The Ranger told us that there were to many times people would come in to visit and set up tents then stay, Not that thats a valid reason but thats the reason we were given.

It's a clubwide practice...These are membership parks and they want to control the mumber of vehicles in park and people using pool and other facilities....and to keep the curious public from wandering around..
It's also a security thing.
I see nothing wrong here.

We have friends who stay at TT in Newport (just up the 101 from Florence) and have visited them several times and never paid a dime!

We tend to be rule followers...but,
Why not just go pick up your friends and drive back to your site and have your visit...This way they won't have to drive into the campground and pay the "visitor's fee."
Don't ask, don't tell.

I would have to pay the $9.00 to get into TT just to pick them up. The security people will not let you in wihout paying.

I'm think'n they mean have the camper (your RV friends)that has the camp ground site go and pick up 'you' the guest and bring you back in for free.
IMHO, JMHO If the CG has nice amenities I think I would just cough up the $10.00 bucks, buy some extra beer and forget your troubles and get happy!
