Just paid $350 after tax for a replacement passenger side mirror. Seeing as that's #3 in 3 years - I'm putting Monsterautoparts in my favorites.

Here is another pair for $260. I'm not sure why they would not fit 2011 as it shows 07-09. Body style has not changed and other ones show for 07-11.

Those mirrors with the large amber signal lenses on the outside casing look just a bit too much like Fords to me.

Just sayin...

Heres a GM wholesaler I use for everything. Cheaper than GMpartsdirect. Home page has the NBS mirrors.

I just ordered a set of mirrors from monster. Power, heated without turn signal (same as mirrors on my truck). $248 with tax and shipping. The ones with the turn signals were a lot more. The truck and the TT signals should be enough. The LED's in the glass are neat, but not twice as much neat.

Pick up some plastic trim tools. You don't want to damage the trim. You will have to remove the door pannels to install them.

I've got the tools. I was a dealership mechanic, and an engineering tech for GM for many years before retiring. I was hoping I could get away with just removing the "shark fin". But, the connector may be down behind the door trim panel. We shall see. Just got an e-mail that expected delivery date is Monday.

Given your backround and tools Im guessing you wont have too much of a problem with the install.

I got the mirrors from monster.com today and installed them. I had to remove the door trim panels. Needless to say the second one went a lot faster than the first. Not having a service manual, I had to figure out the trim panel removal trial and error. Don't drop the bolts by the door pull, they fall down into a blind hole in the door panel and are a pia to retrieve. I found that out the hard way. The new mirror wires had the retainer buds in the wrong location. They were a combination christmas tree/plastic tie strap. I just cut off the tie straps, popped them in the proper holes and put a new tie strap on from my supply. I took a test drive with the TT in tow. My road is a good test as it is pretty rough asphalt. The mirrors extended shake slightly more than the stock mirrors, but not bad considering their weight and extension. I would rate them acceptable. Vision to the rear is good, but it's going to take me a while to get used to them. They actually block some of your foward vision they are so big. If only they would put a connector right behind the shark fin, swapping them out would be a piece of cake. I would even stick my stock mirrors back on for the winter. But, taking the door trim panel back off is a pia. The right side mirror power adjustment also seemed very "touchy". I found I had to tap the control button quickly or it would overshoot on the adjustment.

the 01-02s had the connector behind the "shark fin"

The big mirrors for those year trucks can be found at discountautomirrors for 50 bucks each. The quality is poor but they dont shake, and look factory.
