Can anyone here remember the Santa Cruz Mafia's cart from the first Rally back in '04? That thing was a beauty. It had big tubes that looked like booster rockets on the sides, with fans that powered the rocket's flames. It had the blue colored stain lights underneath. And it had the most amazing sound system I've ever seen (heard?) in a cart.

That was my first face-to-face encounter with anyone from the forum and I couldn't believe my eyes.

Great group though.

We take ours everywhere we can....I triple tow, so I have to pick and choose as that's not legal here in Florida. However, Florida State Parks allow golf carts in their campgrounds as long as you have good brakes, lights, and a regular drivers license. Some of the campgrounds that we go to require you to have insurance on it, so I have 100K/300K insurance just like my vehicles. it's expensive though....$44/year...lol

The private campgrounds usually allow them. We overnited at a KOA recently (easy location) that allowed them.
Also close to where we live , 2 parks allow them.

We go to a lot of campgrounds that are very big and have activities from one end to the other. It just isn't convenient to pile everyone in the truck everytime you want to go somewhere. Plus, I got tired of paying campgrounds $300 a week to rent their carts.

I don't understand the golf cart thing.Sure if there are places to go in a campground or if one is disabled that a golf cart can be a useful thing to have. But I've been to several cg's that have are just cg's and grown adults just ride around and around. One guy runs his dogs using a golf cart, others do ride their kids/grandkids around to entertain them which is perhaps OK. But to just ride ? One perfectly fit couple drove their cart down a walking trail. Seems silly.

To each his own. Some people think we're all stupid for not getting a hotel room.

Many people buy motorcycles, ATV's, bicycles, etc..Just to ride..

Why not a golf cart?

I live in Louisiana and have RVed for 7 years now and never saw a golf cart in a campground. Ok yeah, I only go to state parks. And thankfully any vehicle on a campground road has to be licensed for the highway.
