Hey everyone.
This weekend I developed a problem with my Atwood 2500 power jack. I bought this used off of Kijiji for what seems like a good deal at the time, (he sold it as he bought a 5er) It worked great for a couple of months.
The clutch is engaging when trying to lift the tongue. My tongue weight is around 900-1000 lbs, When trying to raise the tongue the jack "clicks". If I attach the manual hand crank, and assist the motor with the hand crank it lifts it with very little "clicking". Prior to this weekend I had no trouble lifting the trailer and the back of my truck. Now it struggles with just the trailer itself.
The user manual states if the "MOTOR CLUTCH ENGAGES" that it could be a dirty inner ram tube(I made sure the ram tube was clean). or it could be a bent inner ram or faulty clutch.
Should I try and fix this, or just ditch it, and go buy a new 3500. If it is a cheap fix i would perfer to fix.
Anyone with any similar issues?
Thanks!
Ian
