OK who is tired of the excessive heat in the Midwest? We are in southern IL and will be in southern WI in a couple of days. A few days ago we were in KY and because of the heat and humidity we have not been able to enjoy the outdoors. In KY, along with the heat, the misquotes were really bad. Today there is a slight breeze and they are not a bother here at Rend Lake and I enjoyed a cup of coffee outside.
I heard a rumor that Monday it might cool down to the mid 80’s for a day. Yippee. You-all have a good time.

We finally had a nice break in the hot, steamy weather this morning as a line of thunderstorms came through. It's a delightful 78 right now...ahhhh.... won't last long - I mean, it IS July - but sure feels nice :-)

Its so hot here in Cincinnati that this morning, I saw a robin pulling a worm out of the ground and he was using potholders.
Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.

Here in St. Louis it's so hot that
... I saw two trees fighting over a dog.
... gardeners are digging potatoes out of the ground already baked.
... I saw a funeral procession pull into a Dairy Queen.
... the farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs.
... I saw a dog chasing a cat, and they were both walking.

The temp was 107 with a heat index of 122 at my house today. I was off work today but I did not do much outside after noon.

Today was 87 here in Southwest Oregon with very low humidity. We have been below average all but maybe 10 days the entire summer. Ah, the great Pacific Northwest, you got to love it.

Neighbors just came back from Minocqua Wi. not much better that far north either!
FWIW, my pool just cooled down to 87 from 90 yesterday!
