Check out the Rockwood Lite, I pull it with my Nissan Titan.

+1 I have an '06 Silverado Ext Cab with the 5.3 liter with towing package and tow a '08 rockwood 8265S 5th wheel. The trailers dry weight is 6,750 lbs with a dry pin weight of less than 1100 lbs. My wife really liked the Chaparral Lite 268RLE's floor plan and it was advertised as half ton towable, but was about 500-600 lbs heavier than the Rockwood. I felt the Rockwood's weight was about the limit my truck could handle.

You truck isn't a HD is it
How long have you been towing this camper and is your truck a Z71

The short answer Wawa is NO! It's a real nice trailer but it's just too much trailer for the truck.
There a number of things that you need to consider:
1: the truck's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating 7700#
2: the truck's Gross Combined Vehicle Weight Rating 13000#
3: the Front and Rear Axle Weight Rating (unknown)
4: the trailer's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating 9892#
5: the trailer's kingpin weight 1690# (dry)

According to the specifications of the trailer, the GVWR is 9892 lbs. The kingpin weight is a function of the trailer weight and is essentially proportional, so that can conceivably give you a KP weight of 1690/7771*9892= 2151 lbs.

Your truck, with you, the DW, full fuel, hitch etc, will weigh about 6300 lbs. Now add that trailer, loaded for travelling and you have already exceeded the by 6300+2151-7700= 751 lbs. That 750 lbs doesn't seem like much, but for a 5.3 it's lot.

With this trailer, you will exceed the GCVWR by about 13000-(6300+9892-2151)= 1041 lbs.

The tires that usually come with the truck are "P" rated and will run hot with all the extra weight. Also the axle gears are not that robust and will be the weak link in the drivetrain.

Everything says that you are overweight across the board. That's probably not news you wanted to hear.

Here's some advice that I got from my truck salesman who is an avid RV'r. His philosophy is that you buy the trailer first and then order a truck built to match the trailer, not the other way around.

I had a '03 4X2 Silverado 5.3 with a 3.73 rear and tow package and a 25 foot TrailLite 5vr that grossed a 6200 lbs. The truck pulled it pretty well except on the the hills and then it was 60 klicks in 2nd gear. I never ran the tranny in overdrive but instead kept in "D" and tow/haul. Fuel mileage was about 10 MPG. We've since traded up to the 2500HD Dmax/Allie combo. No more 60 klick hill climbs and better fuel mileage pulling a trailer that is half as long again and twice as heavy as the old one.

I've been towing it with this truck since we bought the camper new in Feb., '08. Just pulled it two weeks ago to Arlington, TX & back (about a six hour trip one way). The truck did just fine. I never pull in overdrive and always use the tow/haul mode. And no, the truck is not a Z71. It's a 2WD LT model.

Right now, not tomorrow but now; find another dealer!! That one has no clue and to tell you that you can subtract the hitch weight from the trailer weight to find the true trailer weight will tell you other lies too. I wouldn't trust that dealer to sell me a pair of socks!
Good luck.
