Has anyone installed a hard start capacitor on your 2011 Laredo 266RL air conditioner. Does it make it possible to run your AC with a Honda 2000i? If so which capacitor did you use? I would appreciate your input.

I belive the hard start kits are model specific to your ac model. I was thinking of putting one on mine. There a few on ebay if you type in hard start kit. My ac has a hi and low speed and will start on low with my honda 2000 but not on high. That said when it does start and run on low you are pretty much tapped out on power for anything else while that ac is running. You can forget about using the microwave, toaster, coffeemaker or anything else that has a heater element in it. You'd be better off upgrading to a honda 3500 or another honda 2000 to run in parallel.

It may be doable but that is a heavy load for a Honda 2K genny and doubt it would run it reliably especially at higher elevations. Best to turn off all 120 VAC loads (converter, fridge etc.) and see if Honda genny is able to handle the task. Good Luck!!!

The hard starts are not model specific to the air-conditioner.
You want a Supco SPP6E hard-start capacitor.

I had a hard start capacitor put on my 2011 Laredo 266RL today. The tech was all excited to see it work since he has a FW and a Honda 2000i also. I went to pick up the trailer and took my Honda with me. We tried it 4 times with nothing else on in the trailer. Kicked the breaker on the gen every time. Oh well , worth a try.
