I grew up in Tucson and visit often. Catalina State Park on the north end of town is excellent with plenty of room for your rig and lots of privacy and should not be crowded this time of year.
Gilbert Ray park in the Tucson Mountains (west) is also very nice but sites are smaller.

Lazydays has purchased Beaudy's in Tucson. They are reopening the park portion September 1 apparently. They had a nice park there and it waas a shame when it closed. They are already open for service.

Lazydays has asphalt! Yikes!! Catalina or Patagonia State Parks at least have some trees. You'll be glad to have some shade. Good luck!!

He said he is coming here in a couple of weeks - today is July 17th. An RV park opening in Sept is not going to do much for him! ( I live in Tucson area and have not seen anything about the opening there as yet - will put it on here when I see it).
If you want an RV park go to Rincon West. We have checked them all out personally and that is the place the DW and I recommend. Second choice would be Voyager.
Can't speak to the campgrounds as we have neither stayed there or checked them out.

We live about 6 miles up the road from Catalina State Park and and have been to Patagonia. Catalina SP is very nice, lots of beautiful hiking trails, only down side is no wood fires. During the summer it is only $15 a night including 30 amp service with nice restrooms w/showers. Patagonia Lake SP is gorgeous but $25 a night with 30 amp service, showers etc. The CG overlooks a beautiful lake with nice hiking & water sports amenities. There are number of RV parks in Tucson (try Google) but you will be squeezed in tight and they tend to be a little pricy for what you get. By mid September the temps (usually), start coming down and it gets very nice quickly.

If you like crowded parks, no room, lots of rules, then Voyager is your kinda place. We stayed in Amado. South of Tucson about 38 miles. Used to be a Greyhound racetrack in it's heyday. New facilities and the OWNER threw a party on Saturday night with a live band, free food and free DRINKS !!! Indoor pool and spa. Very nice facilities. In fact, my signature pic was taken there. .... want more pics... ..PM me..I'll also give you some hints on things to see... ..Dennis

The place in Amado is called De Anza. Used to store our RV there up til last owner. Has improved considerably since we first saw it in 2003 but, very honestly, I have not in there lately, Yes, it is 38 miles from very south end of Tucson and, basically, in the middle of no place except Tubac and Tumacacori Mission are close by. And you can always drive to Arivaca to Gadsden Coffee. And eat at the Cow Palace. Just depends how far you want to be from Tucson.

We enjoy Justins Diamond "J" RV park. It is on San Juaqine (sp) rd a couple miles off Ajo highway about 8 miles West of I 19. Very large sites (could put two RV on the sites) and is very quiet.
