Had to share my list. I started this, when I joined a few months ago. All of you have helped me understand my new RV, and TV. Thank you. Please correct or augment this list if inclined. Excuse spelling errors.... Note: Error I had Fabric Softener below when I should have said Calgon Water Softener. Its now been corrected. If something is repeated, it's on purpose in the following list for emphasis:
Chock tires first before unhooking TV
Unchock wheels last when departing
Bleed gas lines before lighting fridge etc.
Cross the safety chains and form a cradle under the hitch.
My WD hitch will make scary noises sometimes.
It's ok to stay hitched while parked for the night.
Lots of people in parks, campgrounds will try to tell you how to do things, or what you can't do!
Speed and safety are closely related.
Don't think being just "under" or "slightly" over a weight limit means it is a safe combination.
There are multiple ways to hook up, set up, level and unhook you RV.
Dumping the black tank does not have to be the worse job.
Things breakdown, just roll with the punches and carry spares, lights, fuses, etc.
Gray water tanks fill faster than one might expect.
Leave some fresh water in your black tank after dumping.
Don't just connect black sewer line and dump as you go. You need volume for it to dump properly and completely.
When charging batteries used in-line hook positive to one battery neg to other battery.
Dump black tank then gray tank, it helps clean your sewer hose.
Tires are the most important part of a trailer. Inspect often replace with quality tires.
Surge protector selection and use thereof, can and will save you money in the long run.
Every camp site is different. Sewer connection etc. Be prepared.
Fill your TV at half tank, don't wait till nearly empty.
Add "Calgon Water softener" to black tanks for easier dumps. Note:" not all Water Softeners are the same. ( Found out they have different Chemistry after doing some research.)
Water lines need to be flushed and sanitized often to prevent dangerous contamination.
A trailer refrigerator needs to be level to work properly.
Check obvious causes like blown fuses or breakers when experiencing electrical problems.
Don't expect RV, AC to change interior temp more than 20 to 25 degrees.
Don't cut off water and toilet service while spouse is still cleaning inside TV.
Check your set screw on the WD hitch "each time" you use your trailer.
Spare parks can save the day! Lights fuses, nuts, bolts.
Your generators use, and noise level should be monitored. Be a good camping neighbor!
I can't wait to learn more. Thanks

When your DW gets out to use the restroom at a fuel stop WAIT until she gets back in your tow vehicle (unless you don't want her to get back in). And it's ok to do number 2 in your RV toilet. Some people won't. What's with that ???

* If your DW is "guiding" you in backing your trailer.....learn HER hand signals.....it'll make your life and the stay much more enjoyable
* Add some Calgon water softner to your waste tanks along with some water after dumping (Some say use fabric softner but it is mostly parrafin and not sure if that's a good thing or not. I see it built up in the dispenser on the washing machine and wonder if might do the same on the sensors)
* Dump any left over ice from your cooler down your toilet when you break camp. The ice "knocks" the "debris" off the tank walls on the trip home.
* Carry a couple of those quick repair water hose ends (male and female) in your tool kit.
* Nylon zip ties of varying sizes come in handy for a lot of things
* An old bicycle tube can be cut into rubber bands or for other things in a pinch
* Some "greeters" at the fed park campgrounds think their golf carts are police cars and they're Dirty Harry or Harriet.....but not all.
* Bacon, eggs, bisquits and coffee taste better when camping
* The majority of fellow campers are really nice and very cool people, but every now and then you run into an old sorehead
* Check your hitch connection to your TV, do a walk around of your rig, look underneath and at the area around you for obstructions and such. Then...do it again before pulling in/backing in and/or pulling out.
* Enjoy every minute you can in your TT
* Enjoy every minute you can with your family and friends....life is too short
