Has anybody had any experience with Air Pressure Multipliers? I know that the Les Schwab store in Junction City, OR. has one for about $400 and they claim it will take 80PSI input ant give you 160PSI output. I was just wondering if any of you have used one and what you thought about it.

It sure would be handy if it works as advertised. My front tires take 125PSI and it takes forever to bring them up when they are only a few pounds low.

I am sure there will be a fair amount of discussion on this subject and perhaps there is something available for less $$$$$$ that works just as well.

Just FYI I do have a stand up air compressor in my garage that is rated at 150PSI and it also is very slow to top off my tires.

We just carry a Sears 150 psi pancake sir compressor in the basement. Works any where any time even with the inverter.

Don't know why everyone is always in such a hurry. I have a small 180PSI electric air pump that will top off my 95-100PSI tires in under 15 minutes (two tires - because I seldom have to top off all six). Got it at a Fred Meyer store for $80. It's designed for long pumping runs. Sears probably has one like it. It's small enough that it hardly takes up any room at all.

I certainly understand your frustration! At home, I have the typical 150PSI compressor but getting those last few pounds of pressure when your dealing with 110-125 PSI in a tire...not an easy task. With that being said, (I didnt check the links suggested in the above posts) they do have those "SCUBA" type tanks outfitted with tire inflation valves....Ive heard its as easy as "sliced bread".

A popular small portable compressor that is rated to 150 psi is available from Sears. $99.00 and works just fine.

there is lots of 150+ air compressors but they all have no volumn and therefore are painstakingly slow.IT Take,s a small 12V 180PSI compressor 30+ minutes to increase your 295X22.5 tire 10 lbs

If the mulitplier is like I think you will need a lot of air to make it work. You will have a very large chamber(piston) pushing against a smaller on(high pressure output side). I have a hydro-test pump that will take 100 psi input and put 10,000 psi out put with a 100psi air supply. Works on the same principle.
