Hey all,

It has been a while since I was here. I hope all are well.

Time to get ready for this summer, however I need Tires.

I went to Kal Tire here in Edmonton and all they got is Michelin XRV 235/80R22.5 for $3,636.00 for 6 installed taxes incl.

I don't need XRV's and price is more important right now.

1. Is there an other size I can use?

2. Does anybody know of a better place here in Edmonton or surrounding?

Thx all

If U dont need XRV why did u price them out? and why did u not ask Kal tire for other options?
Go try fountain tire and see what they say

I checked there. Costco is not allowed to install 22.5 inch

What i found out by now if that the 235/80r22.5 are almost exclusive to Michelin and WH. However I found on the Goodyear web site that 245/75R22.5 are the same size. I hope this will give me some more options.

I used Integra Tire in Fort Saskatchewan last summer. They installed and balanced Hankooks as a replacement for my Michelins. Great service, price, and much better tires.

BIGGDOGG, I won't question anything about your post except to advise us facetually how the Hankooks are 'much better tires than Michelin'

I have used Michelins on many different types of vehicles over the last almost 50 years, and have NEVER had one fail. Good treadwear, good ride, therefore I would like some substantiated evidence to back your statement.

Perhaps try a truck tire store instead? I like Bridgestone myself.

May I suggest you only buy 4 tires for the rears, and put the best on the front? (Unless they are in really bad shape of course).

I've staggered my front/rear tire purchases this way for years and it really takes the sting out of buying tires.

Easy, Hoss. Just my opinion. This isn't a doctoral dissertation.

The Michelins I replaced were five years old, sun-checked, and had a crappy ride. The Hankooks ride really well, and were cheaper by far than the Michelins, ergo, better.

Sheesh.

BIGGDOGG, when I make such a statement based on my opinion only, I like to use IMHO (in my humble opinion). That means it is only 1/350,000,000,000 +/- of the world's opinion.

LOL.
