..when not using the furnace, we put rugs over the floor ducts...Never really lost anything in the ducts and we have 4 grandkids running all through the unit dropping just about anything they're carrying at one time or another
oh, no, I don't know of any right off the bat that don't have heat ducts in the floor, unless the unit is so small that it has a furnace that blows straight into the main living space, (ie, a pop-up, or very small travel trailer)..

Our 2011 Keystone Passport has two floorducts that are completely useless. 99% of the heat comes out of a wall vent below the frig. If you don't want a unit with functioning floorvents I suggest you look into the passport.

Our 2007 Starcraft Travel Star has 2 heat ducts that are not in the floor. They are run behind the kitchen cabinets and exit in the front bedroom, and kitchen, near the bathroom. They work well and are out of the way. Now if only someone would make a quiet furnace!
I hope you will enjoy reading my journal about my bicycle ride, camping all the way across America at www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/dean. We also RV in our '07 Starcraft Travel Star 23QB, pulled with a good old stout Isuzu Trooper. It works

Our Coachmen Freedom Express doesn't have any on the floor. They're all up just a bit on the walls of cabinets. I can see where it could be a PITA.

Our KZ Spree has no floor ducts, they are all low in the wall and cabinets and work very well.

If you are worried about losing stuff in there, you can cut pieces from some magnetic sheet material and just lay it over them. Providing you have the metal registers…

My Holiday Rambler had floor vents. After having a few candies, toys, etc fall into the vents I took a piece of window screen and stretched it across the vent bottom and then screwed the vent back in holding the screen fabric firm.
It worked for us.

I stole a pair of nylons from the wife and stretched pieces across the vents. Plenty of air flow and catches all the garbage.

Our Spree only has one in the floor - in the master bedroom. The rest are low in the wall and cabinets.
