Black Pearl is correct in saying you can make the pin box not rotate. The "Pins" he is talking about were 5/8" Bolts and nuts on mine. Just bolt the thing down solid, remove the wedge, and now you have a standard pin box. BTW that is the way trailers are shipped from the factory, and the universal wedge is bolted to the underside of the pin box, for the buyer to use. I really like the Sidewinder, (I bought the Signature Series Wedge), works as it should, you never think about it.

I was unsure if I would like the Sidewinder so I got the Husky Revolution 16K airbox with the rollers and the stationary legs. Right now I have the rollers installed and if all goes well I will take the rollers off and just use the stationary legs. The rollers add about 28 pounds which I am not concerned about. Both set ups did not cost me any extra, I lucked out on a floor model and it was a great deal regardless that it was sitting in the show room for 2-3 years. I am more confident today about the Sidewinder than I was when I ordered it. The dealership did not know much about the Sidewinder.

""The SidewinderTM Pin-Box is very versatile and can be used as a standard pin box – Conventional Transport. For
conventional transport (2) ¾” GR 5 Bolts and Hardware are installed in the back of the unit (figure 18), on OE applications
these come installed from the factory and may or may not have been removed by the dealer. The two bolts prevent rotation
and allow use of the pin-box without the wedge installed.""

,,, Just remove your wedge .

The shop called and the Sidewinder is on backorder. I guess everyone had the same idea that I did.

Update on my Sidewinder. It had made the nose high and I may not be able to use it. I just picked up my 2011 5th and I have no more adjustments left to compensate for the nose being high. I may have to pin it up and not use it as it was made and it will be a normal king pin. A waste of money for me....

First, I have a Sidewinder and I LOVE IT!. I have never read a single comment from a Sidewinder owner that did not love it.

Second, have you checked Etrailer.com for the Sidewinder? I ordered mine through them. Free shipping, no tax and delivered in a few days.

I am sure that it is a good product if it is applied properly. I ordered my 5th with the Sidewinder and it looks like KZ tried to get it to lower at the factory since I have many of the sleave bolt holes marked up and painted over. Your F250 and trailer look pretty level, mine is way to high in the front and KZ had said it was a Ford 4x4 problem, by looking at your photo I would say its a KZ problem. When we had been camping last year I had asked a few people who had the Sidewinder if they liked it and the answer was that they loved it. This is why I ordered our 5th from the dealer-manufacturer with it installed since it was an option. I figured that the manufacturer would have this set up perfect. I was wrong, anyhow I have no idea what the dealership and KZ are going to do. This 5th has been a pain and I hope that I can use it soon, rather than have it sit at the dealership for half of the summer. I see that you have a Jayco, they have a very good reputation and maybe I should have gone with my first choice and got the Jayco. I am interested in seeing what KZ does for this problem.

Our 5th is really high right now. It almost needs an extra step.

I had a similar problem with my 5th Airborne Sidewinder on my KZ Sportster. The pin box was in the highest position, and the hitch was in the lowerst....and I still was way nose high. I had to redrill my Pullrite Super 5th to get the hitch head lower. A low profile hitch may have been a better option for me, but I didn't know this going into it. Now I am almost 3" high. It doesn't affect anything though. It pulls great, and all of the tires run the same temp. So I don't think it is shifting weight to the rear axle of the camper.

I don't really see it as a KZ problem. IMO, it's a combo of pin box design and a 4x4 truck. A low profile hitch would most likely solve your problem too.
