Just got my new truck and working on the hitch,
My drive has a slight slope from rear to street, Do I need to level the trailer, which appears to give the hitch a 2 inch rise front to back, or equal measures from the drive to the frame at fore and aft spots to give a 'level to drive slope effect'
Thanks, Rick

My experience has been you want to try and level the trailer as best as you can and if you have to slope, slope with the front of the trailer down. If you have just a very slight slope down in the front then you are probably good.

Turn refer off and I doesn't matter... if you try to level get the floor level as best you can.

Thanks for the replys, but let me rephrase,
I'm trying to set the hitch and for ball height, If I level the trailer by the floor the frame is way off as in 2-3 inches higher in the front vs back, so should I ignore level and go with frame height off driveway, since the drive slope is a constant from back to street, meaning the truck will be on the same slope

For hitch adjustmet, the trailer shouldn't be "level" unless the surface on which it's sitting is level.
The frame of the trailer should be parallel to the surface -- meaning the height from the surface to the frame should be the same front and rear.

Ok, I think I understand what you are doing. Setting up the new TV hitch, right. In that case forget the sloping driveway and pull you trailer to a more level area(like a store parking lot) and then adjust the hitch. The sloping driveway can visually through you off and the slope can also effect how the weight of the TT sits on the hitch.

Front unhitched - hitched

Looks like your 2-1/2" low in the rear. Too low for me. You really should try and get the rear up at least another inch to 37-1/2" Personaly I would be shooting for 38" on the rear.

Don't try to level it on a hill... Go to a flat level parking lot and do your measurements and adjustments.
