The rubber boot that encloses the antenna cable has deteriorated and needs to be replaced. Does anyone know how this is replaced or is it Non-replaceable ? It is the rubber boot that attaches at the roof plate to seal the cable from the antenna down through the roof.

Probably can pick up replacement boot at any store that sells TV cable supplies (Home Depot, Lowes, Radio Shack etc.)

Problem is that they ('rubber boots') are installed on cable prior to connector being installed (crimped on).

Could replace both...new rubber boot and a new connector.

Heat shrink tubing and heat shrink tape are other options. Should be able to pick some up at Radio Shack. It makes for a more permanent solution. I have also been successful in rolling a weather boot over an existing connector before. The weather boots are available just about anywhere tv antenna accessories are found. Radio shack, home depot, lowes, walmart.

I fixed mine by going to an auto parts store and buying a spark plug boot. The fit is as good as the original.

Probably the best thing to use is Self-Fusing Tape. Scotch makes the commercial stuff, but in consumer land it's called "Rescue Tape" It stretches to almost x10 times it's length, and once stuck to itself for a short period of time will fuse into one cohesive piece. Wrap that properly around the cable and the roof plate and you will be good for the life of the coach. I have no idea how Rescue Tape acts in UV (the Scotch doesn't care), so you might want to add a layer of Scotch/88 electrical tape on top.

Several stores sell "Coax Seal" Here is the URL for it http://www.coaxseal.com/

You can google: Coal Seal

for dealers and prices

I have read reviews where people used this stuff and took the tape off years later to see a connector as bright and shiny as the day it was new.. I've used it myself with re****s that echo this.

I've also used RESCUE TAPE, this is a silicon tape you can get at Wall-mart and other "As Seen On TV" places.. IT too works as well..

I'd go with teh Coax Seal though, once you use that you will likely toss those rubber boots. They are not nearly as good as the tape.
