I have a 2004 40ft Tiffin Phaeton that has two slide out rooms and the awnings dont have the same protectors on them that the main awning does so the sun has eaten them up at the top and I need to replace them.
My question is what has been your experience with this. The sizes are 152 inches for the living room slide and 91 inches for the bedroom slide. My dealer told me today $700 for the awnings and $75 labor. Is this in line for basic white slide awnings or is this too high ?
How have you dealt with this issue on your coach ?

here is the site I used when I replaced my awning covers. It's easy to do but it takes 2.

Friend of my owns a upholstry shop. We replace mine on both campers with Herculite material. Will not tear and is cheap. The last 3 I did cost me $150.00 in material and I did it myself. I did take the old material off and have him sew the rope in them.

It is probably twice what you could do it for. Your choice.

I just had all awnings on my 40' coach replaced after hail damage. Awnings were black.
Don't know the sizes, but living room awning was $482.45, bed room was $377.41, labor on each was 1 1/2 hours at $100 per hour.
Main 22' awning was $1162.35, 3 hours labor.

If your awnings are cloth (not vinyl) you can cut off 6" and resew the loop at the end. I did all three of mine for $100.00. I figure I'll get another 3-4 years out of them.

We had our awning on the living room slide out on the driver side replaced this winter in Mission, Texas. The Shade Shack In Donna came out and did the job on our lot for $200. They did a great job and we were very happy with the price!

Check these guys out SHADE PRO
I just had them replace both my slide toppers on my Fleetwood Southwind. The replacement fabric is much nicer then the original material. It is thicker and has stitched seams on the ends to prevent tearing and flapping. Shade Pro's offer both Vinyl or Acrylic fabrics and in several colors. Since mine were originally vinyl I chose vinyl again. Also they said the vinyl will not flap in the wind as much as the acrylic would.
Shade Pro's charged me the same price $129 for both the main slide and for the bedroom slide. And installation was the same price for both. I think install was around $75 each.
They are local for me, but they said close to 50% of there sales were not in San Diego. You can order online and install yourself or have a local RV shop do it for you. I was told it is a fairly easy install, but having a helper is suggested. The guy who came out and did ours, did it by himself, but he was pro.
