i've purchased a reese flat 4 plug to a 7-way round adapter..#74184.
my truck has the flat 4..trailer has round 7...there are three extra wires at the flat 4 end, fat blue, black&yellow wires..what are these xtra wires for?
the trailer does have electric brakes

package didn't have any instructions in it

If your trailer has a 7 pin round then it most likely has electric brakes. The flat 4 wire on the truck means that it only controls the tail lights, turn signals, and brake lights.

The other wires would be
+12V input to charge the battery and possibly run a 3 way fridge

Electric brake control

The last one I'm not sure about but it could possibly be reverse lights if the trailer is so equipped.

If the trailer has electric brakes then you should probably buy and hook up an electric brake controller in the truck and get a 7 wire plug on the back of the truck to hook up to the trailer.

Maybe white =ground, Blue = brake controller, and yellow MAYBE to battery
reese says "Extra wires for adding brake controls, back up lights or hot wire"
