So I went out to the storage lot today to put some stuff in the TT and just check things out like I do at least every 2 weeks.

I looked at the back wall by the window and thought it looked funny so I opened the curtains to let some light in and put my hand on the wall where it looked weird. Where the wall bends the wall paper was pulled away probably 18" or so high and from the entertainment center toward the center of the wall was about 12" maybe it was pulled away from the wall, like it was stretched too tight and it pulled away from the bend. I used my hand and pressed and smoothed it out back against the wall and it stayed for the next 20 minutes or so that I was out there.

I kind of expect it to do it again, but wanted to ask....

Does it sound like water got in there? I didn't see any discoloration or any other evidence of water.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Thanks,

Waylon

In this picture you can see the wood behind the ladder how the wall bends in, between the carpeted box and ladder is where it was pulled out.

I would be very carefully checking for water intrusion. Most of the wallpaper used in RVs is pretty much water proof (or at least water repellent) so it doesn't necessarily show when it gets wet but when it's been wet it can shrink, causing it to pull loose. Keep a good thought and HOPE it's just shoddy work when they built the trailer and not a leak.
Good luck / Skip

I think, in some cases, the vinyl shrinks in cold weather, and pulls loose. Plastic has a large coefficient of contraction by temperature. Some vinyl floors split for the same reason.

Look carefully for a wall leak, just the same.

As Skip mentioned, moisture doesn't necessarily show up through the wallpaper. However, it doesn't seem likely that there is moisture behind your wall paper or it wouldn't have stuck at all when you smoothed it out. In addition to stress from the bend in the panel, it could also be from heat buildup. Lobo

Maybe try a heat gun or hair dryer to reheat the glue a bit. Then wedge a board between the panel and the carpet hump you have there for a day or so and see it that doesn't work.Curves are always hard to glue.If it comes loose all the way to the floor, can you get some gorilla glue behind it,maybe with a small brush or a syringe? All else fails, try a piece of trim by the floor to hold it tight.Good luck.

We had a leak in our previous unit that ended up being very bad. It presented early symptoms of wall paper bubble. When I first discovered it, I dismissed it as a careless install. Later, after more appeared and larger areas were found, I brought it to the attention of our dealer/tech shop and it was explained to me what it was. By then there was a lot of damage done.

Short story...it was fixed under warranty.
Moral of the story...don't assume you know what it is, ask a professional to inspect it.

Here is a picture of the actual problem. I dropped it off at the dealer yesterday, probably the last warranty work I'll get done, my warranty is done next week!

AFAIK all wallpaper and boarder paste is water soluble or you can just get a small tub of it and repast it. They also sell wallpaper boarder paste in a tube that you squeeze into the seams and edges to reapply it.
