Same principals as backing any other trailer. If you hold you hand on the bottom of the steering wheel you can turn the wheel whatever way you want the trailer to go.

Best advice might be to go find an empty parking lot and practice.

Just pull a little further past the spot you want to hit as it takes longer for the 5er to cut. When it does go with it, slow make it a little easier also. Find a empty parking lot and practice, practice and well you know.

Think about how each piece (truck and trailer) has to move to go where you want and then practice. Go to an open area such as a lightly used parking lot and play around there.

Just remember, the rear of the trailer goes the same way as the front of the truck. Make the front of the truck go left, the trailer will go left.

and of course, front of the truck right, back of the trailer will go right.

think it thru, practice, practice

I much prefer the "consensus" method. Wherein all the guys in the campground give you advise on what to do next. Makes it a much fuller, rewarding experience. When you do eventually get it parked, you will really enjoy the cold one, or two.

With practice it will get easier. Use the bottom of the steering wheel method. Simple.. Just go slow and don't be rushed by anyone. Don't be afraid to get out and look at your situations as you back.

I use the hand at the bottom of the steering wheel method and in general, I have found that the 5er reacts a little slower at first and then reacts much faster to a turn while backing up than my tt. If you have a manual slider and engage it, the 5er will react faster at first and even faster as the turn develops. So, the thing I have found is start my turn and as the 5er begins to react, start to turn back towards center, anticipating the 5er's faster accomodation to the turn.

Let me tell you a little story. I pulled up to a camp site, got out of the truck to look for over hanging tree limps. By the time I got back to the truck to back in I had a very large group of people setting up to watch me. folding chairs, and beer. They for sure wanted to see failure. Boy oh boy did I give let them down. I lucked out and hit it on the first try. These people thrive on this. Listen to what these people one this forum are saying, and you can't go wrong.I have always had good sound of advice. Good luck and safe travels
